Our code of conduct and our corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment

For Lux-Development, integrity means respect for justice and the law, honesty, reliability and fairness. It is also synonymous with probity, uprightness and incorruptibility. Integrity cannot be fully guaranteed either through criminal law or through any monitoring system, however strict it may be. Integrity must be anchored within the company's identity and each member of staff must make a personal commitment to act with integrity.

That is why Lux-Development's staff members act in accordance with the principles of the code of conduct and expect the Agency's partners to do the same. The aim of the code is to deliver the key information on integrity and corruption. It also contains advice and instructions that will enable Lux-Development staff members to defend themselves against corruption.

For Lux-Development, concerns linked to corporate social responsibility (CSR), namely the voluntary assuming by businesses of their social role (towards their staff and suppliers), their role in society (towards civil society), and their environmental and economic roles are not new, since they are linked to the Agency's mission itself. However, it is not only within the context of the development cooperation programmes that Lux-Development must think about these issues and take appropriate action, but also in relation to the Agency's own operations.

Thus, at the Agency's head office, we have opted for energy 100% derived from renewable energy sources and we offset the CO2 emissions produced as part of our flights through projects that save the same volume of emissions.

Also, within the CSR context, we carry out steps with the aim of:

  • minimising our energy consumption;
  • promoting to our employees and partners more environmentally-friendly ways of travelling;;
  • giving preference to products sourced from the fair trade and the cooperative and voluntary sectors.
